Fall is in the air in DeKalb County and our Apple Orchards are open for the season! DeKalb County, with almost 90% of it’s acreage still in farmland, has some of the best Fall Fun anywhere. Our Apple Orchards contain corn maze’s, apple trains, petting zoos, hayrides and of course some of the very best cider and apple donuts you can find. The corn maze at Jonamac Orchard in Malta this year is in a shape that honors the Boy Scouts of America – a badge. The corn maze stretches 10 acres and involves three miles of pathways and two bridges. The maze is open through Oct. 31.
Many familiar activities have returned to the orchard this year, including the Apple Train and Apple Launcher. New this year is the Jumping Pillow and a large trampoline for children. Starting mid-September, a petting zoo, live music, hayrides and festivals will be offered. The Country Store and Bakery are open seven days a week.
