





Science principles came to life in wondrous ways Friday at Illinois Valley Community College’s annual SciFest, as visitors of all ages packed the gym to browse exhibits illustrating natural sciences, chemistry, and physics. Center stage demonstrations involving a bed of nails, an imploding barrel and a soda geyser held the audience’s rapt attention. The bed of nails, a bubble science table, a virtual reality topographical sandbox, and flavor varieties of ice cream made using liquid nitrogen drew the curious to experience the experiments.
