May 29, 2025, Batavia, Ill. – The Pine Street entrance into Fermilab will be closed to all vehicles, bicycles and walking traffic beginning June 2. Both inbound and outbound roads will not be accessible to accommodate construction for the lab’s new Welcome and Access Center scheduled to open later this year.
All visitors to Fermilab can enter and exit the grounds from Warrenville on the east side of campus using the Batavia Road gate. This entrance is open daily from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. However, please note that members of the public are allowed access from sunrise to sunset.
Pace buses, Uber and Lyft drivers will have access through the Wilson Street gate and Batavia Road gate.
The Fermilab Batavia site, including the Lederman Science Center, will remain open as usual.

Visitors to Fermilab are being directed to use the entrance off of Batavia Road in Warrenville beginning June 2 until further notice. The Pine Street entrance off of Kirk Rd. is closed due to construction activities for the lab’s new Welcome and Access Center.
