The April 1 DeKalb municipal consolidated election is just one DAY away, and early voting and vote-by-mail balloting are done. If you have already voted, I want to thank you for exercising your right to vote and for helping to shape the future of our community. If you haven’t, I hope you will make voting in the April 1 municipal consolidated election a ‘priority‘. Please spread the word – VOTE.
Local elections are extremely important because the winners make decisions that have the most direct impact on our daily lives. On April 1, we will choose our mayor, city council (Alderman), township officials, city clerk, school board members, and park district board.
Concerns: high taxes, poor school rankings, limited residential growth, NIU declining enrollment, crime, poor community image, infrastructure, and road improvement.
Our elected officials should be based on who will do the ‘right job‘ for the citizens. Elections are not beauty pageants, popularity contests, or candidates who are not truthful, transparent, and trustworthy. Remember – change is good – vote them out – term limits.
I would encourage you to research all the candidates and make your own choice, not from outside bantering. Cast your votes on April 1 for those who you believe represent the priorities and values you would like to see in our community. If you are unsure of where you vote, please call our county clerk, and they can provide you with the location of your polling place.

NOTE: Please forward this message to your local DeKalb friends.I need your support – Vote Michael Embrey or don’t vote (LOL).

Michael Embrey, 2nd Ward Candidate: I will challenge the current system and anyone who does not put our citizens first. I will not fall into that image of a politician, but as a representative of the people – your voice.
I will pledge that I will only serve one four-year term, but will help find and nurture future dedicated Ward Council members for the 2nd and 5th Wards – who care about the future..
