On December 6, 2018, Mayor Jerry Smith accepted the resignation of Michael Marquardt,
Alderman for the Third Ward of the City of DeKalb. The resignation is effective as of December 6, 2018. In a letter to the Mayor, Mr. Marquardt indicated that he was resigning for personal reasons.
Mr. Marquardt has held office since May of 2015, with his current term due to expire in May of 2019. Details on filling the vacancy created by this resignation have not yet been discussed. Additional information on that will be provided as it becomes available.
