Kishwaukee College and the Illinois workNet Center in DeKalb are partnering to host a Community Job Fair on Wednesday, February 22 from 10:00a.m. – 3:00p.m. at the Community Outreach Building, 2500 N. Annie Glidden Road in DeKalb.
Employers that will be on site to accept applications from job-seekers include: Hy-Vee, Maurices, Illinois Community Credit Union, DeKalb Park District, Silgan Manufacturing, Furst Staffing, and more. Job seekers should come prepared to fill out applications and be dressed to impress.
The staff at the DeKalb Illinois workNet Center, 650 N. Peace Rd. Suite B in DeKalb, are available to assist job seekers with resume assistance and printing. The Illinois workNet Center also offers community members assistance with soft skills training, job search assistance, pre-employment assessments in math and reading, as well as on-site recruitment, interviews and orientations. All programs are offered free to community members.
In addition, the Illinois workNet Center provides programs to assist local business and industry with finding and hiring qualified workers. These programs include On-The- Job Training, which can reimburse businesses up to 50% of a new employee’s wages, and the Incumbent Worker Program which provides supplemental skills training for employees, helping local business and industry to retain their qualified workforce.
