The Adult Education and Transition Programs division at Kishwaukee College is offering free beginning and intermediate level English as a Second Language (ESL) courses at various times and locations during Fall 2015 in the DeKalb County area. Students can enroll in classes during the weeks of August 24 – 28 and September 14 – 18 at the class locations or at the Adult Education and Transition Programs offices at Kishwaukee College. Beginning and Intermediate ESL classes help adults with limited English proficiency learn the basics of speaking, listening, reading, and writing with practical applications to daily life.
Beginning and Intermediate ESL is offered at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 830 N. Annie Glidden Road in DeKalb (use the rear entrance). Classes meet Mondays and Wednesdays, from 9:00 – 11:40a.m. No childcare is available at this site.
There is a Beginning and Intermediate ESL class being offered at Conexión Comunidad, 637 N. 11th St. in DeKalb, which meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 – 7:45p.m. With sufficient enrollment, there will be limited childcare available through the Family Literacy program for children from birth through age 10, while their parents are in class.
Beginning and Intermediate ESL is offered at Founders School, 821 S. 7th St in DeKalb (use the rear entrance, Door #5). Classes meet Mondays and Wednesdays, from 5:30 – 7:45p.m. With sufficient enrollment, there will be limited childcare available through the Family Literacy program for children from birth through age 10, while their parents are in class.
There will also be Advanced ESL classes at Kishwaukee College. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Advanced ESL will meet from 9 – 11:40a.m. in Rooms C1207 and C1209. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Advanced ESL will meet from 5:30 – 7:45p.m. in Rooms C1207 and C1209. With sufficient enrollment, there will be limited childcare available through the Family Literacy program for children from birth through age 10, while their parents are in class.
