The DeKalb County Community Action Department and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity announce the 2018 Community Services Block Grant college scholarship program.

2017-2018 CSBG Scholarship Recipient
To be eligible to apply the applicant must be a permanent DeKalb County resident, be a member of a family whose gross income from the past 90 days does not exceed 125% of the poverty level and be enrolled or accepted at an Illinois accredited higher educational, vocational, or occupational training institution toward an undergraduate degree or certification. Deadline for applicants is 4:30 p.m., Friday, June 22, 2018.
The Community Service Block Grant Scholarship is designed to help low-income DeKalb County residents pay for post-secondary educational expenses. Applications are available beginning late January/early February and are due mid-June for the following fall and spring semesters.
This is a competitive scholarship. Not all applicants who are eligible will be chosen as a recipient. The Scholarship Committee of the CSBG Administrative Board will determine the recipients and forward their recommendations to the full board.
