a bit more.
My street is a dividing street for state offices. If I understand the map correctly (and I might not, it is a mess) my neighbor across my small residential street is in a different leg. district than I.
I often volunteer to leaflet my neighborhood during election time; this redistricting certainly adds a challenge

Kay’s comments reinforce my request to both Mac and probably more importantly to the DC to start to cover Manzullo. As I said I’m very unhappy with the redistricting, but usually such redistrictings are upheld by the courts, so I do want to learn more about those who will be representing me and for whom i can vote pro or in this case most likely con.

Like dontcha (h/t SarahPalin) feel better knowing that Teacher-Coach-DESERTER Hastert who abandoned IL14 without representation to Not Lobby/Lobby a year early and stick IL14 with a $50k special election fee, is looking into this?
A more interesting question would be WHO is Hastert NOT Lobbying/Lobbying for? That Willard Romney dog didn’t hunt for him long in 2008 man.
And here’s a Manzullo bonus, worst congressional questioning EVER man. Peaceout.

That video of Rep. Manzullo made me cringe. What is wrong with voters up north who put that guy into office, and repeatedly voted to keep him in office?

Like “CRINGE” is spoton Kay man.
Not that he has them, but imagine what his staff meetings must look like.

Have fun with this Maynard:

Let’s not forget our homegrown gerrymandering of the Dekalb County Board districts! Republicans couldn’t help themselves and had to politicize the process. It didn’t have to be that way. I don’t think partisan politics serves the public or makes for good local government.

Herb – There is the very real possibility that court challenges to these new district boundaries. Fmr Speaker Haster was on the radio Wednesday afternoon and he indicated that several lawsuits are in the works. (none filed as of yet)

I’ve written note to the Daily Chronicle mentioning to them that DeKalb is no longer in the 14th Congressional District and it would be service if the paper provided some coverage of Rep. Manzullo whose district we will be in come next election.
Perhaps your web page could do likewise and also cover any democrats who might want to oppose Rep. Manzullo.
(I’m not happy with the redistricting)

The national Democrat organizations are pushing local redistricting in Illinois (gerrymandering, in my view) with the intention of capturing seats in Congress. I cracked up the other day when I read that Jesse Jackson, Jr. would be the new Rep for…what was it?…Manteno? or some such farm town? Many years ago I was upset when my Malta location went from the 14th congressional to 16th. That was during Hastert’s era. When I looked at the 14th map then, I saw it stretched WAY west, it seemed almost to the big river. What the heck is with that, I wondered? So, obviously, most politicians will do whatever it takes to keep power, regardless the effect on locals. I think the only solution is term limits…or should I say that is an essential PART of the solution. On the local level, it would be nice if strong party leaders would put up some resistance when they see gerrymandering going on within their own party. Too often though, they remain silent except to complain about the other guy.
