Look Good…Feel Better is presented in partnership with the American Cancer Society, Personal Care Products Council Foundation, Professional Beauty Association, and National Cosmetology Association. This free program teaches beauty techniques to women or girls who are actively undergoing cancer treatment to help combat the appearance-related side effects of radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Learn tips for skin care, make-up, hair care and wigs. All participants receive a free kit of cosmetics. Green Thumb Healing
Gardening is very therapeutic. It can reduce stress and pain, increase physical activity, and instill feelings of hope. The program is open to anyone impacted by cancer. Work with others to create and maintain the flower gardens in the KishHealth System Cancer Center at Kishwaukee Hospital’s healing garden. Educational sessions are included with local gardening experts. Participants may bring their own gardening tools. AARP Drivers Safety Course
This two-session class, for people age 50 and above, features the nation’s first and largest classroom refresher for mature drivers. The class includes workbook assignments, video instruction and class lectures. The class does not include a driving test. Participants receive a certificate of completion for auto insurance discount.
