Photo – Walk & Roll for Mobility 2016 is the 3rd annual fundraising event hosted by two independent, privately-owned physical therapy clinics, Northern Rehab Physical Therapy Specialists and Creative Therapeutics. This 1.5 mile walk from Creative Therapeutics on Hillcrest Drive to Northern Rehab’s office on Lincoln Highway in DeKalb is a fun, family-friendly event as a kick-off to October’s Physical Therapy month, celebrating healthy activity, and raising funds for the Voluntary Action Center of DeKalb County. We enjoyed a beautiful, warm and sunny day for the walk and had our largest attendance to date! Live music was provided by the NIUkulele Group at the end of the walk at our DeKalb Lincoln Highway clinic Thank you to our community for supporting and participating in this event! Our gratitude is extended to First National Bank, Hy-Vee, Resource Bank, Kishwaukee Family YMCA, and NIUkulele Group, helping to make this event a success!

Try something new: yoga using our unique rope wall! The ropes help with balance and allow you to really relax into your stretches and concentrate on breathing, getting the most out of your practice. A session “learning the ropes” will leave you feeling great even the day after! We’re trying something new, too, by holding this particular ropes class on a Thursday evening so that those who leave town on summer weekends can enjoy the class. If you are new to the ropes, or even yoga in general–don’t worry! This class is fine for beginners and you will be assisted every step of the way by the experienced and versatile Beverlee Burke. Beverlee is sensitive to her students’ concerns and knows many ways to modify poses for comfort. Our ropes are are soft and smooth to the touch; but some may prefer to bring cycling or workout gloves for added comfort, if desired. Space is limited, so please register in advance by calling us at 815-758-5508, or stopping by the front desk. Regular students may use their virtual punch card; walk-in rate is only $15!
