As you know cancer takes a tremendous toll on the spirit, mind and body. LIVESTRONG at the YMCA helps survivors begin to heal and reclaim their health in a safe, supportive environment. LIVESTRONG at the YMCA focuses on the whole person, not the disease. The FREE 12-week Program uses traditional exercise methods to ease survivors back into fitness.
Every year our YMCA provides at least 5 12-week long sessions of LIVESTRONG at the YMCA to local cancer survivors for no cost. They know that a cancer diagnosis is devastating to a persons health but it can also be a huge financial burden. The funds raised from the 5K will go towards providing LIVESTRONG at the YMCA Classes.
Kids 1K begins at 4:45 and the Superhero 5K/1 mile walk begins at 5:30pm Saturday. The event ends by 7pm. Race Day Registration for 5K/ 1 mile walk/ Kids 1K is $30. Free 1 mile walk for all survivors. For more information please visit the Kishwaukee YMCA’s website or call 815.756.9577. The YMCA is located at 2500 W. Bethany Rd. in Sycamore.
