The St. George Greek Orthodox Church of DeKalb is celebrating 50 years of traditions, culture and Christian Orthodoxy in DeKalb this coming weekend. An Open House will take place on Saturday, November 5, 2016, from 3-5pm at the church, at 320 S. Second St. The public is invited to come and tour the church and hear Father George Zervos explain the Orthodox church and religion. The invitation is open to everyone. Parking will be available on the corner of 2nd and Franklin.
Their big Anniversary Gala will take place at Faranda’s Banquets in the evening.
His Grace Bishop Demetrios will be serving Orthos and Pontifical Divine Liturgy along with Father George on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 9:30am. The Philoptochos Women’s organization will be hosting a traditional Greek luncheon for parishioners and guests, immediately following the service.
