Bring your friends or family and participate in the first ever Shabbona Lake Summer Olympics this Sunday, July 22nd. Participate in one, several or all the events. Events will run between 6am – 2pm. The goal of this event is to bring families back to the great outdoors for a weekend without being tied to technology. There will be six different ‘Olympic Events’, each with a prize for the winner. Sign up at the Bait Shop before each event. There will also be hayrides and a K-9 Rescue Dog Demo.
Participate in the Paddleboat Races, Bags, Horseshoe and Family Relay Tournaments, a Kids Ice Cream Eating Contest, and a Wildlife Picture Taking Contest. There will also be a fishing contest where you earn points for snapping a photo and releasing the fish. On the water and shore fisherman can participate. Catch one of each species, take a picture and release the fish. Points will be awarded for each specie caught. In case of tie, there will be a fish off from shore. First person to catch fish wins (starts at 6am – contest ends at 2pm).
