Meet at the DeKalb Public Library on the second Tuesday of every month for a book club just for seniors.
Meet on Tuesday, June 10, at 11:00 a.m., to discuss Slaughterhouse Five: A Novel by Kurt Vonnegut.
Due to a chrono synclastic infundibulum, Billy Pilgrim has become “unstuck in time.” In this, Kurt Vonnegut’s classic fusion of history and science fiction, he retells one of the many lesser-known stories of WWII in the author’s signature style, bringing historical events to life and redefining the very nature of time.
Billy Pilgrim doesn’t remember his life, he lives his whole life over and over, including his time in a German prisoner-of-war camp during the fire-bombing of Dresden, and his end time on the planet Tralfamadore with Montana Wildhack. Join us to talk about one of the most analyzed & studied classics of modern times.
Books will be available in the Adult Services department. Also available in Libby in audio and eBook form and in Hoopla in audiobook form. We will obtain as many large print and audio copies as possible. Also available in Libby in eBook form.
This book club is intended for adults. No registration is required. It will be held in the Nancy D. Castle Collaboration Studio.
