The Illinois State Police and DeKalb Police will both be doing roadside safety checks during this week of St. Patrick’s Day. State Police District 2 will be joining DeKalb officers in watching for drivers who may be under the influence, as well as those driving in an unsafe manner, with open alcohol or with a suspended or revoked driver’s license.
The department says alcohol and drug impairment is involved in nearly 40 percent of all fatal crashes in Illinois. The enforcement drive is being funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation.

I drink in my garage. Keys put away!
Watch the selfone usage too.
The real reason behind these checkpoints is to generate revenue it is not about the people’s safety. The cops are gonna make a fortune off seat belt tickets and other petty offenses like that while the number of dui’s will be relatively low.
