DeKalb County Clerk & Recorder, John Acardo, is reminding all residents to be prepared for holiday travel and renew or apply for your passport soon. The DeKalb County Clerk & Recorder’s office provides Passport processing services for new applicants or individuals wishing to renew their passport. Please be advised that even with expedited service it takes 4 to 6 weeks for processing and the return of your Passport.
The DeKalb County Clerk & Recorder’s office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Please note that our processing fee of $25.00 can be accepted by credit or debit cards in our office, however the processing fee, (which varies), to the Department of State requires that payment be processed by check.

How does this compare to passport services at the post office?

Haven’t need a new passport for a while, but did need more pages. Found that requesting said service directly from federal passport people on line worked very well, and way faster than promised. In fact, i did not pay for expedited service (since I was in no rush) and received my passport back with new pages faster than had been promised for expedited service. Spouse has similar positive experience.
