Indian Valley Theatre’s Summer Children’s Workshop is a summertime tradition! For 36 years IVT has been offering children and youth a fun, safe and rewarding atmosphere to learn about theatre and build their confidence performing. IVT Workshop Teachers were very excited to hold an in person Workshop this year. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 concerns by parents and an extremely low student registration, IVT has had to cancel the in-person June 2021 summer workshop session for children 1st through 6th Grade which was to start Monday, June 14th. Payments that were received will be returned.
But, never fear, IVT’s Summer Children’s Workshop will still continue again this summer in a different way! IVT realizes that children are surely tired of looking at a screen to learn, however IVT’s Workshop Teachers wanted to create a Virtual Summer Workshop for those die-hard theater kids. It will start on Monday, June 21 and run through June 25th. The theme will be Alice in Wonderland and will include dances, songs, crafts, informational stage topics and fun. Multiple instructors will provide new and unique experiences in a limited timeframe.
IVT Virtual Summer Children’s Theater Workshop in June will be offered FREE OF CHARGE for anyone interested in participating. Indian Valley Theatre continues to create safe, quality children’s theatre enjoyed by participants, family, and friends no matter what circumstances develop.

The Teen Workshop is still planning an in person Workshop at the historic Sandwich Opera House, 140 East Railroad St. in Sandwich. These classes are for those entering 7th grade through graduating seniors and will run July 12th thru July 24th. This year’s program will be “1930’s Radio Hour”. Class times are Monday to Friday 9am to 12pm. Performances will be Saturday, July 24th at 2pm and 6pm. Registration must be made online by July 5th at https://sites.google.com/view/ivtsummerworkshops/2021-teen-workshop. The Teen Workshop session is being offered at a reduced rate of $75 per student.
