An internment service will be held Friday, April 22nd at 10am at the Oakwood Cemetery behind the Congregational Church on N. 1st St. in honor of former DeKalb Township Supervisor Patricia LaVigne, who died late last year.
LaVigne served as a trustee for DeKalb Township from 1984-1989 before becoming township supervisor in April 1989, a post she held until her death. LaVigne, a Republican, also served on the DeKalb County Board, representing District 10 from 1998 until her death.
A white oak tree purchased from the DeKalb County Forest Preserve will be planted in LaVigne’s honor. The dedication ceremony will be at 3pm Friday just off the nature trail at the DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center, 2600 N. Annie Glidden Road in DeKalb.
The public is invited to attend this memorial service, which is non-partisan and non-political. Pat was so very involved in so many events and with so many organizations over the years that the entire community is invited to attend this ceremony.
