The clients of Opportunity House enrolled in the Learning for Life Program visited DeKalb Implement in Sycamore on March 6th, 2014. Learning for Life is an educational program offered in partnership by Opportunity House, Inc. and Kishwaukee College. In the program, Opportunity House clients participate in classes that focus on one subject area and, through use of textbooks, workbooks, hands-on activities and field trips, learn about the subject matter.
The clients are currently enrolled in a class titled “The History of Transportation: Trains, Planes, Autos and Farm Equipment,” designed and taught by instructor Carla Raynor. While visiting DeKalb Implement, the class learned about John Deere farming equipment including tractors, combines, and planters.
