This Thursday, April 19th, another free Electronics Recycling Day will be offered through a joint effort of Habitat for Humanity of Illinois, a student project team in an undergraduate business course at NIU and Vintage Tech Recyclers. No appointment is needed, and the event is open to individuals, businesses, schools, hospitals and municipalities. This is a great opportunity for those who may have missed the County’s recycling day this past weekend.
The event will be held from 2-7 p.m Thursday at the NIU Convocation Center, 1525 W. Lincoln Highway in DeKalb. Volunteers will be available to unload your electronics from cars. Proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity of Illinois to help build and repair homes, according to a news release from Habitat for Humanity. All materials will be recycled by Vintage Tech Recyclers.
Acceptable items include PC’s, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, keyboards, TVs, cellphones, modems, cables, mice, zip drives, video game consoles, IPods, DVD players, VCRs, CD drives, stereos, MP3 players, radios, calculators, servers, networking equipment, cameras, camcorders, fans, microwaves, telephones, pagers, answering machines, toasters, blenders, battery backups, adding machines, postage meters and typewriters. Batteries should be removed from all items.

eWaste eXpress-Glad you are recycling, but your website does not show activity in Illinois. Why are you posting here, then?

@Kerry, we get thousands of spam comments each month but the software we use to catch it does a pretty good job. This comment came in on a related topic and our filters let it pass. So we decided to publish it in case they were doing a test market or in case someone needed an idea for a business.
