The Northern Illinois University Homecoming Parade is scheduled to occur on Thursday, October 20th, 2016 at 7:00PM. A long-standing Huskie Homecoming tradition, the Homecoming Parade brings Huskies and members of the DeKalb and Sycamore communities together on a lighted march filled with pride for both NIU and the community.
The Northern Lights Homecoming Parade will begin at Gilbert Drive and College Avenue. Several Streets and intersections will be closed during the parade. A long-standing Huskie Homecoming tradition, the Homecoming Parade brings Huskies and members of the DeKalb and Sycamore communities together on a lighted march filled with pride for both NIU and the community.
Please choose an alternate route if you plan to travel any of these roads during the scheduled parade time. The parade is due to end at approximately 8:00PM. If you have any questions contact the DeKalb Police Department at 815-748-8400.
The parade will take the following route:
*East on College Avenue (beginning at Gilbert Drive)
*South on John Street to W. Locust Street
*East on W. Locust Street to First Street
*South on First Street to Lincoln Highway
*East on Lincoln Highway to N. 3rd Street
*North on N. 3rd Street to E. Locust Street
*The parade will end at N. 3rd Street & E. Locust Street
