News Update- Sycamore, IL: As of Friday morning, there is no official document regarding the fire on Saturday, July 27 at St. Albans Greens in Sycamore. Sycamore Fire Chief Peter S. Polarek confirmed that there is no official report at this time, but the Illinois State Fire Marshal has commented that the fire was accidental.

The Sycamore Chamber of Commerce is hosting a fundraising event on August 7 to benefit the residents that were affected by the St. Albans Green Apartment Complex Fire. The event, Sycamore Strong ~ A Gathering of Hope, will be held at Blumen Gardens from 6pm to 10pm. The Chamber is partnering with Taxco Restaurant Too, Blumen Gardens, and Back Country Roads.

Other local businesses and companies are offering discounts or donations to support the various organizations that are helping the victims of the fire. Sycamore Mayor Curt Lang encourages all citizens to verify any donations to make sure money is going to a valid support organization.
