The new location of the DeKalb City Hall opens today for both the staff and visitors. City Hall has taken over the old Nehring First National Bank Building on the corners of Second and Lincoln Highway (164 East Lincoln Highway).
“Thanks to the efforts of our city team and local workers we are ready for business”, said City Manager Bill Nicklas. “We came in on budget and were able to accomplish everything to make the transition work for City Hall staff.”
With a guided tour DCO was able to see the changes and upgrades to the inside of the building. The old wood and panels were brought back to life with proper treatment and the marble areas had years of deterioration cleaned and restored.
The lower level has window areas for payments and to request applications for various permits.
