The DeKalb Police Department is participating in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day this coming Saturday, April 29th, 2017 from 10am -2pm. Don’t take the risk someone else will find your old medicines or they’ll end up in the water system. Instead, bring in any prescriptions you’d like to get rid of to the DeKalb Police Department, 700 W. Lincoln Hwy., DeKalb this Saturday.
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse and medications. By expanding options on how users may dispose of their pharmaceutical controlled substances, fewer of these substances may end up in our nation’s water system

Do you know if they are accepting syringes?
We asked the PD for you and got this response:
We will accept syringes; however, they must be capped and secured. They also need to be separated from any drugs.
Thank you!
You can get a “sharps” container from waste management and they will take syringes!
I have boxes of unused packaged syringes I am having a hard time getting rid of.
