On Saturday, August 4, the American Cancer Society is hosting its annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer — a 5k, non-competitive walk benefiting the Society’s comprehensive programs and services for patients and their families. Join them at the 2012 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer DeKalb this Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Hopkins Park. This is not a race but a celebration of survivorship, an occasion to express hope, and a shared goal to end a disease that threatens the lives of so many people we love.
More than a walk, the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a powerful and inspiring event that unites communities to celebrate people who have battled cancer, raise awareness about the steps we can take to help prevent the disease, and raise money to find cures and support programs and services for those facing the disease. There is no registration fee or minimum fundraising amount, people of all ages are welcome to participate and help raise funds. Registration begins at 8:00 am at Hopkins Park in DeKalb. Contact Meghan or Courtney at 630-879-9009 opt 3 with any questions or visit their website to learn more.
