Kishwaukee College took several students on a tour of Driv-Lok in Sycamore on October 21. The students are enrolled in the Automated Engineering Technology (AET) program or in the I-CAPS program. The AET program prepares students for careers in manufacturing as CNC operators or machinists. I-CAPS is the Illinois Career Advancement Pathways System which prepares students simultaneously for the GED/high school equivalency exam and the Certified Production Technology certificate to become a skilled manufacturing professional.
While at Driv-Lok, the students were able to observe the machines, products, and processes of the local manufacturer. Staff members accompanying the students on the tour were Michelle Allen, Career Center Coordinator, Suzanne Meerman, Adult Education Instructor, and Kristine Adzovic, Director of Adult Transitions.
