Kishwaukee College will be hosting an Open House for the community to tour the new Terry and Sherrie Martin Health Careers Wing on campus this Tuesday, May 6th, 2014, from 4:30 – 7:00p.m. The Open House will include a short program and ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:30p.m., self-guided tours of the facilities and light refreshments. The Terry and Sherrie Martin Health Careers Wing Open House is free and open to the public.
The Terry and Sherrie Martin Health Careers Wing is 25,850 square feet of refurbished space that includes three nursing labs, one nursing practice lab, two massage therapy labs, and five classrooms, plus a new Complementary Health Clinic, Health & Education division offices and faculty offices. The new wing brings the Health Profession Programs – Complementary Health (Therapeutic Massage), Nursing, and Radiology – together in one place for the first time.
The short program that begins at 5:30p.m. will include remarks by Dr. Tom Choice, President of Kishwaukee College; Mr. Bob Johnson, Chair of the Kishwaukee College Board of Trustees; Bette Chilton, M.S., R.N., Dean of the Health and Education Division; Mr. Frank Roberts, Chair of the Special Gifts Initiative Committee for the Kishwaukee College Foundation; and Terry and Sherrie Martin in whose honor the new wing has been named.
The Terry and Sherrie Martin Health Careers Wing Open House marks the final official opening of new and remodeled campus facilities under the 2010 Referendum. The referendum provided funding for the new Student Center Building, Campus Operations Building, new classroom/lab facilities, and the ring road/parking lot construction.
