The Collision Repair Technology (CRT) Program at Kishwaukee College has been awarded grant that includes full waiver of the licensing fee for the Professional Development Program – Education Edition (PDP-EE) curricula materials. Greg Brink, CRT faculty, stated, “I-Car PDP is recognized as the industry standard in professional shops. This donation – which is worth $1,100 – allows our students to complete the I-Car curricula and graduate with I-Car certification, making them even more employable. This is a great testament to the quality of our CRT program.”
The PDP-EE curricula consist of custom-developed modules that incorporate the latest industry research; comprehensive educator information and support; and additional support for both the College and students, including lifetime student access to I-CAR learning and technical support. Brink explained, “PDP-EE is I-Car’s new model for CRT training. When our students complete this training, they will be certified at Pro-Level 1 for Non-Structural Technician and Refinish Technician. This enhances their employability because I-Car certified shops – especially those that are Gold Level Certified – must have Pro-Level techs on staff. Our graduates coming out of school already certified means the shops do not have to pay for the I-Car training. The students have it already.”
Brink plans to make the most of his donated PDP-EE curricula and is thrilled that Kishwaukee College CRT students will gain long-term real-world benefits from the donation. “This is extremely generous of the Collision Repair Foundation and we are very grateful to have been selected as a recipient of the PDP-EE training,” he said.
