At their regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 10, the Kishwaukee College Board of Trustees’ approved the appointment of Dr. Bill Nicklas to the position of Special Assistant to the President for Strategic Partnerships. The newly created part-time, temporary position was developed to strategically outline goals and opportunities to cultivate and promote the positive and substantive relationships with local business and industry, economic development, and regional workforce groups throughout the district.

In addition, Nicklas was the City Manager for the City of Sycamore from 1998 – 2011 as well as for the City of DeKalb from 1992 – 1997.
Dr. Borowicz stated, “Bill brings with him a thorough knowledge of the local communities throughout the district. I could not ask for a better person to assist the College in building on the existing relationships and creating new partnerships. Together we will move forward strategically and create a better and stronger College and community.”
“I am very pleased with the opportunity to work with President Borowicz and the Senior Leadership Team of Kishwaukee College,” stated Nicklas. “Forging business and industry partnerships has been my personal ambition and career focus for many years. I am eager to blend my experience and pragmatic approach with the College’s vision.”

You can’t find a more capable, diligent, focused, and hard working man. Proud to know him and to have had the privilege of working by his side.
Couldn’t agree with you more Kevin.
He is very capable and will surely make a profound and positive future for Kishwaukee College.
I thought he retired from NIU because he wanted to spend more time with his family? He went from the City of Sycamore to NIU and now Kishwaukee College??? How much money does this guy need?
It’s not money he is after, it’s influence.
Apparently, you both have quite the negative, and in my humble opinion, incorrect opinion of Mr. Nicklas. You must not have been paying attention to what’s been happening the last year while Bill has been donating his time to assist those that were affected by the tornado last April. What a shame…..
I am all for donating and volunteering.
goos man will be very helpful at KishCC
