DeKalb County will be starting construction on their new jail facility this Monday May 2nd. The first phase will include roadway and utility work on Exchange and Locust Streets as shown to the right. In order to complete this work it will be temporarily close sections of roadways. Barricades will be placed at the limits of construction activities. Please follow all signage for vehicle and pedestrian traffic and exercise care when traveling in this area.

At the time District 428 was tunnel focused on getting a $110 million construction referendum passed. They reached an agreement with the Town of Cortland for the new school site in exchange for Cortland’s endorsement of the referendum. They should have at least bargained for their share of the tipping fees but chose not to.
