This will be a weekend like no other in Genoa. Join them for three days of peace and music and beer, wine, ducks, fun and tomfoolery! Walk, drink, sing and float with them at the Carroll Memorial Park in Genoa for the 2015 Genoa Volksfest under the Alan Browne Chevrolet Big Top. There will be beer and wine in the afternoon with 40+ varieties from local volks! Craft beer brewers and wineries from within 60 miles of Genoa will be showcasing their best offerings. This will be a first-of-its-kind event in Genoa, IL.
Join the folks in Genoa for a weekend of fantastic fun and entertainment this Friday-Sunday, September 11-13, 2015. From live music from four bands to their first ever craft beverage festival and inaugural Volksmarch to the grand finale on Sunday of the annual Great Genoa Duck Race, there is something for everyone to enjoy this weekend!
Join them for live music Friday night featuring two live bands. Wade Buzzard and the Crossroads Band, and TOW will provide an evening of free fun for the entire family. The Volksmarch runs on Saturday, September 12 between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.. Volksmarch means “people’s march” in German. It is a non-competitive fitness walk of either 5 or 10K. The path winds along the beautiful Kishwaukee River and through Genoa.
The Craft Beverage Fest runs on Saturday, September 12 between noon and 5:00 p.m. Family fun continues Saturday night with two fantastic local bands, The Relics and Vagabond Moon from 5:30 p.m. until 10:00. Join them at the Lions Club soundstage for a great night of music.
For the Craft Beverage Fest: Get in on the VIP Hour (12:00pm-1:00pm) – $50 – in the 3 Roses Realty Hospitality Suite – VIP participants will enjoy a seated table, live acoustic music, full-service catered appetizers, and nearly unlimited beer or wine samples for the hour. VIP admission also includes 15 general admission sampler tickets.
General admission, from 1:00pm-5:00pm, costs $25 per adult. General admission includes 15 samplers of craft beer (4 oz.) AND/OR wine (1.5 oz). Designated Drivers, from 1:00pm-5:00pm, get in for only $5 for admission into the Alan Browne bigtop. Free water and pop available to all designated drivers.
For VIP Hour (12:00pm-1:00pm) designated driver tickets are $20. Please contact event promoter at the bottom of the ticket ordering page. VIP designated driver participants will enjoy a seated table, live acoustic music, full-service catered appetizers, and free water and pop for the VIP hour. They will also get admission to the general admission tent where free water and pop we continue to be available from 1:00pm-5:00pm.
The culmination of a great weekend, the Great Genoa Duck Race will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Bigger and better than ever this year, the event will feature more than 30 vendors under the Alan Browne Big Top including local businesses and restaraunts. Music from the G-K Jazz Band and local D.J. legend Jamie Frye. Also featured will be jump houses, face painting, a hula-hoop contest and even more. The race is at 1:00 p.m. when over 2,000 ducks will compete for a chance to win $500. Get your ducks today at The Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce, Tobinson’s Ace Hardware, Resource Bank, Northern Illinois Rehab, Karlsbad Tavern or Heartland Bank. Ducks can also be purchased until noon on race day at the event sight. See you at the river!
