As the Sycamore Park District’s Leaf a Legacy campaign closes in on its $1 million goal, Hy-Vee of Sycamore shows its commitment to this campaign and the community with an $11,000 donation. With this contribution, Hy-Vee is the sole sponsor of the two scoreboards in the future community center’s gymnasium. “The gym and elevated walking track around it are going to see a huge volume and variety of activities and participants. We are thankful to Hy-Vee for their generous contribution and proud to display their name on the scoreboards as supporters of this great community resource,” said Michelle Schulz, Sycamore Park District Board of Commissioners Vice President.
Sycamore’s employee-owned Hy-Vee has proven to be a community asset in and of itself. Along with the in-store resources and high-quality shopping experience, contributions such as this prove its commitment to community engagement and enrichment. Tom Boubin, Hy-Vee’s Store Director, says, “It’s an honor to help with the future of our community, especially with the Park District, knowing all families can use this facility.” Sycamore Park District Executive Director, Danial Gibble adds, “It’s support from businesses such as Hy-Vee who choose to go above and beyond that allows us to do our part in sustaining the high quality of life that Sycamore residents enjoy.”
Leaf a Legacy is just over the $700,000 mark on its way to a $1 million goal. Like all Leaf a Legacy donations and pledges made by December 31, 2016, 50% of this contribution will be matched by an anonymous donor. Donors have the option to make a one-time donation or pledge to contribute in increments of the span of up to five years. The ACTION 2020 projects that Leaf a Legacy will help fund include a recreation campus with a community center, dog park, splashpad and sled hill as well as two trail connections, Sports Complex expansion and a new irrigation system for the Sycamore Park District Golf Club.

HyVee is the best store to shop and this shows they are also a great neighbor too

Way to go Hy-Vee!! â¤ï¸

Yep – this is my favorite reason I shop at Hyvee. Love their support of our community- big and small

Jazzmin Hopkins

Wow, very generous!

Hopefully people remember this and patronize Hy-Vee. You sure don’t see WalMart doing things like this for the community. Not to mention at least Hy-Vee will use all their checkout lanes when they’re busy. That is something WalMart never does.

ARE YOU AWARE THAT CHINA HAS BOUGHT OUT WAL-MART??

Hy-vee rocks.

Nice line of organic foods

So glad HyVee came to the area. Love absolutely everything about HyVee

Hy-Vee is such a great asset to the area. They are truly committed to the community:)
