40th Annual Genoa-Kingston Christmas Craft Walk
The annual Genoa-Kingston Christmas Craft Walk is a unique event held at 9 different locations around the Genoa and Kingston Area this Thursday – Saturday, December 4th-6th, 2014. Holiday Treasures – Valley West Hospital
The Valley West Hospital Auxiliary will present its annual Holiday Treasures sale this Friday, December 5, from 9 am to 2 pm in the Valley West Hospital main lobby. Event highlights include a bake sale of homemade cookies, breads, candy, etc., and the Tiny Treasures sale, a favorite. The day wouldn’t be complete without the exciting gift basket raffle featuring baskets donated by staff members of the different departments in the hospital. Raffle tickets are available in the Unique Boutique Gift Shop. Raffle winners announced at 2 pm at the end of the sale on Dec. 5. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. All proceeds benefit the Auxiliary’s Valley West Hospital Expansion pledge, along with the Valley West Hospital Healthcare Scholarship Fund. Holiday Shopping Fair at the DeKalb Area Women’s Center
This Friday and Saturday, December 5th and 6th, stop in to the DeKalb Area Women’s Center for local handmade crafts, original art and home-based business wares. Live music every hour on the hour. Seated-chair back massage. Homemade refreshments will be available. A 50 cent donation includes door prize drawing. Hours are 6-9 p.m. Fri. 12/5 and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sat. 12/6 at the DeKalb Area Women’s Center, 1012 State St., DeKalb.
A Sandwich Christmas / Festival of Trees / Holiday Lane Craft Show
Enjoy a weekend packed with family friendly holiday activities in Sandwich this weekend. The Festival of Trees and Holiday Lane Craft Show opens at Timber Creek Inn & Suites on Rt. 34 on Saturday, December 6th at 10am and runs until 5pm. It is also open on Sunday from 10am – 4pm.
Experience the magic of a holiday wonderland filled with an assortment of delightfully and uniquely decorated trees. Stroll leisurely through the extraordinary holiday trees represented and decorated by local businesses. The Festival includes holiday musical entertainment by local church choirs, school groups and community musical groups scheduled at various times throughout this free festival. Be sure to visit the Holiday Lane Craft Show and Home Business Showcase located in the convention center for a perfect holiday shopping opportunity.
At 4:30 pm Saturday the Tree Lighting Ceremony will be at Veterans Park on Railroad Street. From 5pm – 8:30 pm get on the Trolley Tour of Decorating Contest Winners. Free Tours depart from Veterans Park every 45 min. to view homes decorated for the holidays. Between 5pm – 8:30 pm experience the Christmas Village – Carolers, Music, Roasted Chestnuts, S’mores and visit with Santa at Veterans Park.
