County Clerk Douglas J. Johnson wishes to announce that House Bill 105, Public Act 98- 691 calls for a change in the process of filing to run, for all Grade and High School District board positions in Illinois. Previously, all filings for the office of School Board Member took place at the local school district. The district then certified candidates to the local County Clerk or Election Authority to run the election for these offices. Beginning with the upcoming Consolidated Election in April 2015, all filings for School Board District Offices will now take place at the County Clerk’s Office instead.
Nomination petitions for the April 7, 2015 Consolidated Election are now available in the DeKalb County Election Office.
Candidates for the following school districts will file in the County Elections Office:
Genoa Kingston CUSD #424
Indian Creek CUSD #425
Hiawatha CUSD #426
Sycamore CUSD #427
DeKalb CUSD #428
Hinckley Big-Rock CUSD #429
Sandwich CUSD #430
Somonauk CUSD #432
The first day candidates may circulate nominating petitions for the April 7, 2015 school board election is September 23, 2014. The filing period for nominating papers is December 15 – 22, 2014. The DeKalb County Elections Office is located in the Administration Building, 110 E. Sycamore St., Sycamore. Please call the Elections Office at (815)895-7147 with any questions.
