Background:
I am a mother with three children. One graduated from DeKalb High School, one is currently at DeKalb High School, and the youngest is at Huntley Middle School. I have a degree in Secondary Education. I currently work for the Illinois Association for School Business Officials. Illinois ASBO provides continuing education, certification and support to the field of School Business Management.
I have been involved in the school district since my oldest daughter started kindergarten. I started in the PTAs, where I held the office of President, Vice President and Secretary at 3 different schools. I chaired committees for many school activities. Eventually I started serving on School Board Committees. I participated in many of these committees, as well as attending School Board Meetings for 2 years, before deciding to run for the School Board. I am currently finishing my second term. I have served in the capacity of Secretary of the Board all eight years.
Platform:
I believe a good Board member is someone who is open minded, and flexible to the needs of the students, staff and community. I am willing to volunteer my time, energies and positive attitude toward meetings and issues that need careful consideration. I will continue to listen to community members and respond to their questions and needs. I have learned many things about School Policy, School Law and School Finance during my tenure, and I will use this knowledge to make thoughtful decisions for the future of the district.
I will participate in the committees and Board activities that allow me to continue to learn more about the district and the community we serve. I am proud to be a resident of District 428, and will work hard to keep this district financially stable and educationally sound.

Ive’been working for the DeKalb school District going on 22 years and have attended many Board meetings and have worked and talk with a few board members that I respect because of there work eithics toward doin whats best for the district. With them I put Holly, because she has no problem asking the tough question to the other board members and adminstration. If she doesn’t have complete understanding of a situation that is to be voted on, she will have them explain it to her until she does and answered her concern’s before she cast’s her vote and if thats not done she will ask to have it tabled until the next meeting so she has a chance to sort it out.. To me that is a GREAT quality in a elected offical. There has been item’s we have not seen eye to eye on but when the dust settled, I knew that she had completely thought it through and did what she thought was right. That being said I will vote for her because we need to keep that kind of ethics on this Board of Education. I ask all voter’s to retain Holly Wallace as a Board member of District 428.
