The 2020 Illinois primary voting on Tuesday, March 17 is slow according to County Clerk and Recorder, Doug Johnson. The midday reports were less than normal according to one precinct judge. “This election is slower than most primaries” commented Andy Small, DeKalb 9th Precinct Polling Judge. “Not sure if it is just lack of interest or the challenges offered from the Coronavirus.”
According to Johnson, the DeKalb Township Building and the NIU Holmes Student Center polling locations were closed down. There have been no reports of other problems at any of the Precincts in the county.
There were several cancellations from Precinct Polling Judges that chose not to be available for various reasons. Primarily the Democratic Party Ballots had choices for various candidates to be selected.
