Plan to come to the DCEDC Annual Industrial Focus Luncheon this Thursday, May 30th, 2013 from 11am to 1pm. The topic will be Broadband & Economic Development. The DeKalb Advancement of Technology Authority (DATA) Broadband project has made DeKalb County a hub of high-speed fiber optic networks, facilitating affordable broadband access to institutions, consumers and businesses.
The panel that will speak at the luncheon is comprised of three experts on the topic of Broadband. Mr. John Lewis, Director of the Regional Development Institute at Northern Illinois University will serve as Moderator. Event Panelists include Mr. Matt Parks, Director of Network Services, Northern Illinois University, Mr. Scot Eberle, President, Fiberutilities Group and Mr. Brad Housewright, Director of E-Team Regions, Broadband Illinois. Topics of interest include; Broadband Assets in DeKalb County; Strategies to Promote Increased Adoption, Utilization and Economic Development and; Summary Findings of eStrategy Reports – Describing the Broadband Innovation Fund.
