City of DeKalb seeks Real Estate Broker for Landmark Commission

The City of DeKalb seeks a Real Estate Broker to join the City’s Landmark Commission. Applicants must be from the City of DeKalb or DeKalb Township and have a demonstrated special interest, knowledge, or experience in architecture, history, neighborhood preservation, or related disciplines.

Since 1977, the Landmark Commission has worked to preserve the community’s heritage and historic buildings. Work includes conducting surveys of historic districts and buildings, designating local landmarks, acting as resource consultants for owners of historic properties, and working for the continuing education of the citizens of DeKalb with respect to the historic and architectural heritage of the City.

Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor with the consent of City Council.
