The Pumpkin Fest Historic Tour of Homes brought to you by the Sycamore History Museum, will be on Saturday, October 25th. Do you ever wonder what stories lie in the buildings you pass every day? The ordinary becomes extraordinary when you step into these historic structures and step into Sycamore’s past. This year’s event celebrates the life of General E.F. Dutton and his influence on Sycamore. It parallels the SHM’s current award winning exhibit, General Dutton’s America and gives you a glimpse into how Sycamore changed and grew over three eras: the early settlement years, the Civil War years, and the Gilded Age.
Tickets for the Tour of Homes are available before October 25th, at the Museum or at the Sycamore Chamber office for $25 per person or $40 for a pair. On October 25th, tickets can be purchased at any of the homes/buildings on the walk. The tour includes: Sycamore History Museum; Old North Grove School; DeKalb County Courthouse (10am-12pm); Syme House at 420 Somonauk Street; J.H. Rogers House at 432 Somonauk Street and the Dustin House at 423 California Street. For more information about the Historic Tour of Homes click here.
