Another Early Morning Fight in the Old Greek Row Area

At 3:03am, on 1/31/16, DeKalb County Deputy observed six people fighting in the front yard of 910 W. Hillcrest Dr. A 2004 Honda Pilot, operated by Gerardo Patino, Evanston, was used to try and run over the subjects fighting. Patino then struck the Deputy’s squad car with his Pilot. Patino then made a second attempt to run over more subjects.

Patino had a friend, Quinn M. Cahill, also of Evanston, involved in the fight. Patino was able to flee the scene and pick up Cahill. Shortly after they were observed driving recklessly on I-88 by a motorist who called the Illinois State Police. The vehicle was located at the DeKalb Oasis by they ISP and other deputies.

After a brief foot chase both subjects were taken into custody. Cahill was found to be in possession of drugs and was charged with possession an possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Patino was found to be in violation of zero tolerance. DeKalb police issued citations to Patino for: Reckless Driving, Improper Backing, Fleeting to Elude, Failing to report an accident, Leaving the scene of an accident, operating an unisnsured vehicle, improper lane use, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Both subjects are being held at the county jail. There were no injuries.
