Amenti – Egyptian Theatre Haunted House opens this Friday, October 22nd. With over 20 different scenes on 6 different levels, this Haunted Theatre is not recommended for anyone under 13 due to the intense scare factor.
The Egyptian Theatre Haunted House was featured in 13th Hour Magazine Fall 2008 and Fall 2009 issue, featuring haunts from across America in their Haunt Showcase. 13th Hour Magazine is labeled as ‘The World’s Finest Haunt, Attraction, Costume & Technology Publication’.
According to their website, “Amenti is the Egyptian Goddess guarding the world of the dead. Within her gates lie the horrors of the Egyptian underworld. Terror after terror await those who dare to enter. But be careful, Amenti jealously guards her gates and assures that no one escapes.”
This attraction has become one of the most talked about events in the DeKalb area. 3,275 people over 8 nights experienced the horrors of Amenti in 2009. It takes place inside the historic Egyptian Theatre in downtown DeKalb. The Egyptian Theatre is managed and operated by P.E.T. (Preservation of Egyptian Theatre, Inc.) a non-profit organization.
