The first presidential debate between President Trump and former vice president Joe Biden is scheduled to take place tonight in Cleveland from 8:00 to 9:30 PM (Central Time). The Moderator will be Chris Wallace, anchor of “Fox News Sunday”.
The debate will last 90 minutes and address 6 primary issues:
1) The Trump and Biden records;
2) The Supreme Court;
3) Covid-19;
4) The economy;
5) BLM – race and violence in cities;
6) The integrity of the election.
The DeKalb Daily Chronicle and Shaw Media Editorial Board have endorsed Joe Biden (Democrat) for President. The paper stated it is time for the country to have a new leader. In 2016, the Daily Chronicle would have endorsed endorsed Hillary Clinton (Democrat) for President but choose not to endorse anyone.
The Chicago Tribune has endorsed Joe Biden for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020. The Tribune feels even with all his foibles on the campaign trail, Biden maintains his status as a relative moderate. Biden trailed Bernie Sanders for most of the early voting and primaries. In 2016, the Chicago Tribune endorsed Libertarian Candidate Gary Johnson for President. The Chicago Tribune felt Donald Trump was unfit to be President and Hillary Clinton would extend America’s long political divide.
NOTE: Please remember to Vote. Early voting is open in DeKalb County.
