During the on-scene investigation of the armed robbery, Sycamore Police gathered suspect and vehicle descriptions and issued a radio broadcast on the Illinois State Police Emergency Radio Network to surrounding law enforcement agencies. At approximately 1:15 am Sycamore Police learned the Elmhurst Police Department spotted a vehicle matching the description from the armed robbery and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was involved in a car accident on North Ave. in Elmhurst and two individuals were taken into custody. A firearm was recovered in the vehicle. Sycamore detectives responded to Elmhurst and collected and corroborated evidence to arrest the suspects in connection with the armed robbery that occurred at the 7-11.
The release of the suspects identification is pending as the investigation is ongoing.
The suspects are also believed to be involved in an armed robbery that occurred at a gas station at North Avenue and Gary Ave. in Carol Stream at approximately 12:10 on 7/25/17. Sycamore Police continue to work with the Carol Stream and Elmhurst Police Departments on the investigation. The clerk, a 45 year old male who was injured in the armed robbery is in stable condition and is expected to recover. The Sycamore Police Department was assisted by the DeKalb County Police Department during the investigation, which remains ongoing. Updates to follow later this morning.

The Sycamore Police Department is investigating an armed robbery which occurred at the 7-11 Store located at 404 W. State Street, Sycamore, Il. on 7/24/17 at approximately 11:21 PM. Two suspects entered the store with a firearm and a struggle with the clerk resulted in the clerk being shot twice in the lower body. The suspects then fled the scene in a small to mid sized white vehicle.
The suspects were described as black males with short hair in their 20’s with one wearing a t-shirt resembling an American flag and the other wearing a white shirt. The suspect wearing the white t-shirt is believed to have left the store with a black 7-11 t-shirt, originally worn by the clerk. The clerk was transported to Kishwaukee Hospital. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should call the Sycamore Police Department at 815-895-3435.
The public is reminded that all charged with a crime are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law and charges are merely accusations.

Heads up: WGN reports 3 suspects and one is still at large in Elmhurst! Armed and dangerous. They are requesting people to stay indoors. This was as of 26 minutes ago
