Water main construction begins July 17. The planned capital improvements involve replacing aging, breakage prone water mains with large diameter, ductile iron mains. Main replacements will occur in the roadway. Residents can expect parking restrictions and limited driveway access as the contractor backfills trenches. Residents directly affected by the planned construction will receive an informational letter via mail. Look for updates on the City’s website, social media, and through press releases.
Public Works has also scheduled an informational meeting for all residents at the City’s Water Division located at 1216 Market St. on Wednesday July 5, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. Staff will discuss project details and answer questions. - East Sunset Place (between South First Street and South Fourth Street)
- South Eleventh Street (450 feet of water main from the 400 block of South Eleventh Street to Taylor Street)
- Maplewood Avenue (250 feet of water main from the 500 block of Maplewood Avenue to Taylor Street)
- Lewis Street along with sections of Clark Street and Seaman Avenue (from the 1500 block of Lewis Street to Vienna Blvd.)

Yes I live in sycamore the water stinks bad n water really hard on the skin

Just came back from visiting in Sycamore….the water there is “TOXIC” you can not even shower and come out smelling clean…stinks really bad!!
