The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous complaints regarding phone solicitation conducted by the Metropolitan Alliance for Police (a police union). The solicitation infers that the funds raised goes directly or helps your local sheriff’s office. Than information in not accurate. The individuals doing the solicitation are not police officers, deputies or employees of DeKalb County. This solicitation was not authorized by Sheriff Scott.
All complaints should be made to the Metropolitan Alliance for Police at 630-759-4925.

They’ve called me several times….
I messaged the dekalb county sheriff. Their reply was that MAP union 318 is legit. But when MAP union 318 solicited me, they did tell me that my contribution was for DeKalb county. But thats not what Sheriff scott is saying. As I read the article on DeKalb County Online, sheriff Scott didnt say it was a scam, but just ” not accurate” . I dont know what or who to believe anymore. I now feel a bit bad for the girl who came to get the check. She waited for over 30 minutes for me to return to have me confront her and photo copy her license and MAP ID. She probably didnt know the solicitor was telling untruths.

I just got this call yesterday!
I told them I would – 🙂 so when they came to pick up a check, I photocoppied her I D and got her liscense plate. After I call metro alliance, I might post some names here.

I was contacted by these people. Yes, they wanted a donation for law enforcement. After asking him several questions and telling him it sounds like a scam to me, he hung up abruptly. The one mistake I made was not saving the phone number and reporting it. Won’t happen again!!!
