First Midwest Bank establishes Charitable Impact Fund with $250,000 gift

The DeKalb County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that First Midwest Bank has established a donor advised fund benefiting local nonprofits with a $250,000 gift. Through the Community Foundation, the First Midwest Bank Charitable Impact Fund will provide philanthropic support that aligns with the charitable interests of First Midwest Bank, formerly NB&T.

“Our area nonprofits count on us to be the guardian of the community – funding their missions with meaningful philanthropy”, says Michael A. Cullen, Regional President of First Midwest Bank. “First Midwest Bank is proud to carry on a legacy of community support not just because we should, but because it is part of who we are,” notes Cullen.

The First Midwest Charitable Impact Fund will be used to help area nonprofits go the extra distance in meeting local needs.

“We are pleased to partner with First Midwest Bank in supporting our County’s quality of life through their charitable impact fund. Our mission thrives on connecting people, and their businesses, that care with causes that matter,” said Community Foundation Executive Director Dan Templin.

First Midwest is a community bank with 10 branch locations in the DeKalb, LaSalle and Kane County area as well as branches that serve suburban and metropolitan Chicago, central Illinois, Iowa and the Quad Cities and Northwest Indiana providing a broad range of commercial, wealth management, and retail banking services to consumer, commercial and industrial, and public or governmental clients.

Donor Advised Funds allow for a more hands on, proactive approach to philanthropy, by enabling donors to make grant recommendations from the fund over time.
