Harvey Creek Area – Dayton Street & Lions Road
Harvey Creek Conservation Area is the largest park in the Sandwich Park District. It is located in the southeast corner of Sandwich on Lions Road near Indian Valley Vocational Center and is the largest parcel of land in the parks system consisting of 30 acres of wetlands and prairie grasses. A walking path, in memory of Tim Rediger, skirts the boundaries of the park to provide recreational and educational opportunities.
An open-air shelter provides picnic tables for park guests. The shelter may be used on a first come, first serve basis. Interpretative signs are located nearby to provide information on native grasses, plants and animals located in the wetland conservation area.
A 12 foot bridge spans an inlet to Harvey Creek to complete the circular path of the Tim Rediger Memorial Trail. The park is handicapped accessible for guests. Click here to learn more on the Sandwich Park District’s website.
