California Street (Waterman to High Street)
Edward Street– (Elmwood to Washington Street)
Curran Contracting of DeKalb and their subcontractor have started saw cutting of concrete and pavement. It is expected that work consisting of the removal and replacement of spot curb and gutter, sidewalk and driveway removal and replacement work could begin as early as Thursday, May 19, 2016.
Any concrete removals have been marked with white paint. Please do not park in front of or adjacent to white paint areas. If any of this removal and replacement work is across your driveway, then you will not be able to use the marked areas for approximately one week after removal or until the concrete has properly cured.
Similar work will be completed on other City streets with asphalt work to follow. If necessary, the contractor will construct a short stone ramp to allow you access to your driveway. You will receive a second notice prior to asphalt work. Again, there shall be no parking on any of these streets within the construction limits when Fresh Oil, No Parking, and Road Construction Ahead signs are posted.
Waste Management will continue with their usual pick-up of refuse, recycle and landscape materials during this construction. We ask that you place these materials out the night before the scheduled pick-up since Waste Management may need to adjust their schedules during this street construction. Emergency vehicles will have access to the properties on all of these streets during this construction project.
The tentative schedule outlined above may change from time to time depending on weather conditions, availability of labor, materials and equipment, etc. Please contact the City of Sycamore at 815-895-4557 if you require special accommodations. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve the City’s infrastructure.

Does anyone know what is going on with Coltonville Rd?

I tried calling yesterday to ask but called too late. Will try again today…

Just reached them and they are looking at the end of spring in June.
