
Tiffany Burdick Hintzsche, AIFD, CFD, ICPF, works with Katelyn Hensley, Genoa, a Kishwaukee College floral design student, on creating a head wreath that would be suitable to wear in weddings or other special occasions. Hintzsche was a guest presenter to the floral design classes as part of the Artist In Residence (AIR) program offered through the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD).
The Kishwaukee College Floral Design department hosted a guest designer as part of the Artist In Residence (AIR) program offered through the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) on Wednesday, March 30 at the College. Students in Janet Gallagher’s Floral Design class watched a demonstration by Tiffany Burdick Hintzsche, AIFD, CFD, ICPF, in the morning and then created pieces with her during the afternoon for a hands-on experience.
Tiffany Hintzsche is a graduate of Kishwaukee College and Northern Illinois University with degrees in Ornamental Horticulture, Floral Design, Textiles, Apparel and Merchandising and a minor in Marketing. She also holds two certifications CFD (Certified Floral Designer) since 2009 and ICPF (Illinois Certified Professional Florist) since 2005. Tiffany has been in the industry for 9 years and has worked in retail floral shops and freelanced for multiple special events companies’ downtown Chicago and Naperville. While at Kishwaukee College, Hintzsche presented to the students on creating floral wreaths head pieces that would be suitable for weddings and other special occasions. The students worked under her supervision in the afternoon session on creating their wreaths.
The AIR program is offered through the AIFD to bring together industry professionals and floral design students at colleges and universities that have Student AIFD chapters. Kishwaukee College is one of only 14 colleges in the nation with an SAIFD chapter.
